What OpenOrder does

Everything a savvy shop actually needs.

Honest comparison on this site — and on the retailers’ own pages while you shop, with the browser extension.

Price check

Not sure it’s worth that price?

You’re a savvy shopper — you don’t buy the second you see it. Save the link to anything you’re eyeing at Aldi UK, Tesco or Sainsbury's — or any store we support, and we’ll watch the price for you and flag every change, up or down, so you buy at the right moment instead of guessing.

  • Paste the link

Drop in any product page URL and pick how often we re-check it — every few hours, daily or weekly.

  • We watch the price

We re-open the page on your schedule and record the price every time — building a history you can scroll back through.

  • Get flagged on every move

The moment the price changes — up or down — it's flagged on your price-check dashboard, with the exact before-and-after.

Take it with you

Take the comparison with you.

The browser extension overlays competitor prices on the retailer’s own product and cart pages — so you can see whether your basket is cheaper elsewhere without leaving the site you’re shopping on.

Questions, answered.

Can OpenOrder plan a week of meals and tell me what it costs?

Yes. Pick a week of dinners and every ingredient is scaled to your household and pooled into one shopping list — 600g of flour on Tuesday and 400g on Thursday is one bag. Each line is matched to a real product at each supermarket that stocks it, so you can see what the week costs before you go.

Which supermarket is cheapest for a whole meal plan?

Every line is priced at each supermarket in your region and ranked by unit price, not pack size — a larger pack at a better rate wins, and the surplus it leaves is shown separately rather than counted as overspend. You get one recommended shop for the week whenever a store covers enough of the list to name one; when none does, we say so rather than guess. Totals are an estimate built from the shelf prices we hold, not a register total.

How does OpenOrder find the cheapest supermarket?

It prices your actual basket across the major grocery retailers in your region and totals each one, so the result reflects everything you buy — not a few well-known items.

Is the cheapest store the same every week?

Not necessarily. Prices move, so OpenOrder re-compares to keep the answer current.

How are different pack sizes compared?

By unit price (per 100g, per litre or per item), which normalises pack sizes for a fair comparison.

Do I need an account to compare prices?

No. Browsing prices, comparing stores and the worked example week are all open to anyone. An account is what saves your meal plans, shopping lists and tracked products so they are there next time.

Can I track the price of a specific product?

Yes. Price Check lets you save any product page URL and choose how often we re-check it. We record the price at every check and flag any change — up or down — so you know when it's the right time to buy.
